Lunch Monday to Saturday , Supper Wednesday to Saturday


As the chef-patron of the café I draw on my cultural upbringing in the Dordogne region of South West France, where good food and good wine marry themselves to good company.
I am passionate about good quality ingredients and favour seasonal produce and local suppliers whenever this is possible and whenever this does not compromise on the quality. As a scratch-cook I don’t believe that food should be rushed and as such please don’t be offended if it feels a little slower than your average café – but believe me for the intensity of the quality to shine through it really is worth that extra 5 minutes.
My wife Sarah makes all our lovely cakes and puddings on display in our window - that is when she is not looking after our 4 terrible boys - so this really is a family business! In fact we wanted our youngest son Frederick to connect with his French origins so much that we named the café Frédéric after him!
I am always on hand from my open kitchen to listen to your feedback and ideas so please don’t hesitate to let me know what you think!

Ulric Allsebrook, Chef-Patron of Frédéric brings a touch of South West France through his simple cooking style



Sarah is our chef-patissiere, she makes and designs all our cakes


Frédéric is our 4th boy and we wanted him to reconnect with his French roots so Café Frédéric it was!



We sell vouchers in the form of an electronic card, for all denominations – The vouchers can be used for anything we offer in the restaurant, to buy a bottle a gin or wine from the shop or towards a tasting session. The perfect gift !
